The Safe Step was designed to aid people with disabilities up and down stairs. It’s unique shape allows for ergonomic function as well as a safe accent and decent down the stairs. The hand hail also allows for users without the need for the safe step to use the hand rail.

When a person falls a simple pin locks into the hand rail, preventing the user from falling down the stairs.

A functional prototype was made to test ergonomics and function of the Safe Step’s design.
